Shakopee Parks and Recreation offers a variety of programs for preschool and school-age children. Information about current programs is available in the latest activities brochure or contact Mark Schneider at 952-233-9511. Here are a few of our specialty programs:
Arrowheads Archery is a popular program that teaches youth the lifelong sport of archery. Through Arrowheads Archery, youth (ages 8-18) have the option of participating in USA Archery designed camps and weekly practices in the spring, summer, fall and winter. Program levels vary by the season.
Adventure Day Camp
Adventure Day Camp is a four-day camp each summer where campers (ages 6 to 12) experience a variety of activities surrounding a daily theme, learn new games, make creative art projects and go on a field trip. For more information, see the summer activities brochure.
Shakopee Ski Club is open to junior and senior high school-aged kids. Ski Club includes two evening and two all-day trips to local ski areas. Transportation and lift tickets are included; ski or snowboard equipment rental is on your own. Registration is open mid-October through mid-November. The maximum number of participants we can take is 100; spots do typically fill quickly. For more information, contact Mark Schneider at 952-233-9511.

No-School Day Programs
No school? No problem. The Parks and Recreation Department offers special programs during MEA, winter and spring breaks. These programs include athletics, movies, field trips and more. The programs are geared for youth ages 6 to 12. Deadline is always one week before the event.
Each summer, we offer weekly Friday activities for preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) through our Weekday Wing-Dings programs. Sign up for all or just one - whatever fits your schedule! For more information, see the summer activities brochure.
In collaboration with Community Education and the Shakopee Police and Fire departments, we offer a one-day camp for participants to experience and learn about a variety of safety issues. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to learn all about safety. For more information, see the summer activities brochure.
