Flooding Update for Highway 41 in Chaska 

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Highway 41 will close between Highway 169 and Chaska Boulevard at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, due to the rising water levels of the Minnesota River. Highway 41 will remain closed until the water recedes and any damage to the road can be repaired. Motorists can expect additional traffic on the Highway 101 river crossing in Shakopee.

Over the weekend, MnDOT restriped northbound Highway 169 over the Bloomington Ferry Bridge to add a temporary third lane to ease congestion.

Adopt-a-Park

The city's Adopt-a-Park [PDF] program offers residents and local groups an opportunity to assist the city in maintaining and enhancing public parks and open spaces.

Adopt-a-Park participants agree to a minimum two-year commitment. Park adopters pick up litter at least three times per calendar year: 1) April or May, 2) June or July and 3) August or September.

If you are interested in participating, email your application [PDF] to the Public Works Department.

Additional or one-time cleanups are welcomed. Register your cleanup dates online.

Park Watch

The Park Watch program is aimed at keeping our parks clean and safe. You can help by taking an active role in reporting any disturbances or vandalism they see happening in our local parks.

Residents are encouraged to observe and report on:
  • Illegal or suspicious activity - Call the police department at 952-233-9400 or 911 in an emergency
  • Violations of city park ordinance
  • Hazardous conditions
  • Park maintenance needs
  • Resource misuse

Be observant of such events noting time, place, description of vehicles and/or persons (including height, weight, clothing and direction of travel), as well as any other identifying information.

Please do not take any action to intervene or attempt to correct a problem. This is the responsibility of Shakopee Police Department.
