The Ṡakpe ti Lounge is a place for Shakopee's active older adults to gather and socialize. The lounge includes a full kitchen, comfortable tables and chairs, television, and free coffee.

Visitors can also use the Community Room, adjacent to the lounge, daily until noon. Outside of any planned events, this is a great area to do a puzzle, play cards, or just visit with friends!

Trips
We are always on the lookout for a fun trip to a variety of destinations that'll be sure to pique your interest and get you out and about in the Twin Cities and beyond! All trip fees include transportation and admission to the destination and will be offered to/from the Shakopee Community Center. Each trip has a different pace - definitions are as follows:
  • WCA: Wheelchair Accessible
  • Light: Includes walks of one city block
  • Light to Moderate: Includes walks of two to three city blocks
  • Moderate: Includes walks of three or more city blocks
  • Extensive: Includes a substantial amount of walking

Shakopee Heritage Society Presentations

These free, popular discussions are presented by David R. Schleper. Each month he will take you on a fun journey into all things historical about Shakopee and the surrounding area. Topics include anything from influential people to historical landmarks and structures. Each presentation is full of interactive conversations, interesting information and lots of fun stories from the past.

Quality Footcare

This is a great opportunity to give your feet some attention. Our footcare specialist visits the Shakopee Community Center once a month to help with nail trimming, foot massage, and to work on ingrown toenails, corns, and callouses. Each session is 20 minutes long and registration is required at least one week prior to the session.
