The Shakopee Community Center offers a variety of fitness opportunities, including cardiovascular equipment, a strength area and weekly group fitness classes.

With the state’s continued capacity limitations, the Community Center is using a reservation system to ensure members can fully enjoy the facility’s amenities while practicing good health and safety. More information, including frequently asked questions, is available on the Community Center page.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center features:

  • Treadmills
  • Ellipticals
  • Recumbent Bikes
  • Upright Bikes
  • NuStep
  • Free Weights
  • Machine Weights

Participants must be 14 years of age to use the fitness equipment without conditions. Youth ages 12-13 may take a fitness orientation and sign a waiver. After the orientation is complete, youth ages 12-13 may use the fitness center equipment and attend fitness classes, but must be accompanied by an adult. Youth ages 12-13 must wear a wristband from the front desk while using the fitness center.

Use of the fitness center is included in the daily fee or with a membership.

Fitness Orientation

Sign up at the Community Center for an orientation to help you get acquainted with our fitness equipment. Certified fitness staff will meet with you to show you the proper use of cardio and strength training equipment. Orientations are offered regularly on select dates.

Fitness Classes

A variety of adult aerobics classes are offered at the Community Center. Classes are professionally taught in a comfortable setting with safety and fun in mind. View the Group Fitness Schedule [PDF] to find out when and where your favorite classes are held.

No pre-registration required. Just scan your membership, show your punch card at the front desk, or pay per visit when you check in at the front desk. Body bars, hand weights, resist-a-balls, resistance bands, kettlebells and mats are provided.

Group Fitness classes can be attended by those 14 years or older. 12-13-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent.

Please consult with your physician prior to beginning any new exercise program. Space in some classes is limited.

All users must present valid picture ID. To qualify for the residents’ rate, you must reside within the city limits of Shakopee. Find more information about Community Center memberships

Personal Training

Looking to shake up your fitness routine? We are excited to offer one-on-one and small group personal training to help you achieve your goals. Certified personal trainers will design a safe and effective program, individualized to each client’s needs, abilities and goals. Please note, sessions are 55 minutes each.

The Community Center does not permit non-city-employed personal trainers to train clients for payment in the facility. The Community Center staff reserves the right to ask non-employee trainers to end their training session.
