Night to Unite: Thursday, August 13, 2026
Join us for this annual community-building event that strengthens neighborhood connections and supports crime prevention efforts. The 2026 event is planned for Thursday, Aug. 13.From 5:30–9 p.m., residents are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on their lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Many neighborhoods host block parties, cookouts, games, and visits from police, fire, and public works staff.
Whether your gathering is big or small, the goal is the same: build relationships and show unity against crime.
Night to Unite is a fun, low-cost way to boost neighborhood spirit and reinforce the partnership between residents and local law enforcement. The impact of this one evening can last all year.
NTU Photo Contest: There are two categories (General photos and Dog photos). Three general winners and one dog photo winner will be chosen. All entries must be submitted by 8p.m. Sunday, August 16th. All Selfies with Shako PD entries will be entered into a prize drawing.
- Entrants must be photographer of the image.
- All submissions become property of the City of Shakopee and may be used in any publication, advertisement, electronic media (website, social media, email, etc.) or third party outlet. Images must be from a 2026 Shakopee Night to Unite registered party.
- No extensively edited images (no filters, text or Photoshop enhancements; small color corrections and cropping allowed). We want authentic photos that represent the night.
- Images must be in JPG format and at least 800 KB. A maximum of five images is allowed.
