City ordinances dictate that grass on private property should not be in excess of eight (8) inches in length. Failure to comply with this ordinance could result in citations as well as additional fees.

The City of Shakopee contracts with Dick's Sanitation Inc. (DSI) for residential garbage and recycling collection services. Please call DSI's Customer Service line at 952-469-2239 to address service and billing issues.

Mailboxes should be sturdy enough to withstand snow coming off the end of the plow. If damage occurs due to snow hitting a box, the city is not responsible for repairs. The city will repair or replace mailboxes and turf only in those instances where direct impact by a plow truck causes the damage.
