The Human Resources division provides personnel services to the City of Shakopee. Its primary responsibilities including hiring staff and administering various human resources programs and policies. The city currently has a staff of 150 full-time, 200 part-time and more than 300 seasonal employees.

Minnesota Statute 471.701 requires that “a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of the three highest-paid employees.” In the City of Shakopee, as of March 1, 2019, titles and salaries are: City Administrator, $153,676.30; Police Chief, $144,269,86; and Public Works Director/City Engineer, $139,303.56.
