Media Relations
The Communications Department distributes news releases to local media to keep area residents abreast of City news. If you are a member of the media wanting to be added to the City’s distribution lists, please contact the Communications Division at 952-233-9355.

Photo/Video Policy
Periodically, City staff take pictures or videos of participants at various City-sponsored events, enjoying our facilities or interacting with our staff. These photos may appear in any City publication, third-party media outlet, or in promotional and marketing materials. While we make efforts to seek permission from easily identifiable individuals, participation in or attendance at our programs or events constitutes voluntary consent. If you have concerns about your image or child's image appearing in City materials, please contact the Communications Division at 952-233-9355.

The City website is the primary source for City news and information. Sign up to receive email updates for topics that interest you.
Shakopee Snapshot
The City newsletter, formerly named Hometown Messenger, is published and mailed to Shakopee residents and businesses four times a year in a combined publication with the Parks & Recreation Activities Brochure.
After Council Report
After every City Council meeting, the City produces and posts an After Council Report, summarizing the meeting's action.
Shakopee Government TV

The City operates a government access television channel that broadcasts the meetings of the City Council and other City boards and commissions. Shakopee Government TV is accessible on Comcast cable channel 15 or online via live streaming.

City-produced videos are also available on the City's YouTube channel.
