Crack sealing operations delayed due to weather
The city's annual crack sealing operations are scheduled to start mid-week the week of May 28. The contractor's schedule was pushed back due to rain earlier this month. Watch for updates on the website and Facebook.
Road work starts on reconstruction streets
Construction has started on Seventh Avenue, Scott Street and Minnesota Street as part of the 2019 Street & Utility Reconstruction project. The following streets are closed to through traffic:
- Scott Street – Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue
- Seventh Avenue – Sommerville Street to Spencer Street
- Minnesota Street – Fourth Avenue south to end of cul-de-sac

Lane closures on Highway 169 for interchange project
Watch for lane restrictions along Highway 169 between Highway 41 and 150th Street for construction of the new County Highway 14 bridge deck.
Blasting operations continue along Shenandoah Drive
Crews are blasting bedrock to make way for the Shenandoah Drive extension. Blasting operations will be limited in the area and will only be allowed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays. During blasting, it is estimated there will be up to three blasts per day. Utility installation and roadway construction will continue throughout the winter. The project is expected to wrap up in late 2019.
Pedestrian bridge at Memorial Park removed
The Minnesota Valley State Trail's Mill Pond channel pedestrian crossing is closed. The bridge, located on the northern edge of Memorial Park, has been removed. The city is working with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other partners to explore options for repairing, replacing or completely removing the bridge.
