Windermere Way closed for five days
Windermere Way will be closed from the intersection at Marystown Road (CSAH 15) to Willow Circle to allow for private utility construction starting Monday, July 23 and re-opening Saturday, July 28.
Jennifer Lane closed to traffic for two weeks
Jennifer Lane (from Meadow Lane to Wood Duck Trail, including the Fairhaven Drive intersection) will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, July 23 to accommodate the installation of utilities and a storm sewer crossing for the Prairie Meadows 2nd Addition development. Downtown alley closed for gas work
The alley between Holmes and Sommerville Street and Third and Fourth Avenue will be closed for gas line work the week of Monday, July 16. There will be no parking on Holmes between Third and Fourth Avenue during this time.
Tree trimming and removal along Orchard Parkway
Xcel Energy will be trimming and/or removing trees and other items along power lines northwest and southeast of 1428 Orchard Parkway in the next few weeks.
CenterPoint to perform annual maintenance work
CenterPoint Energy will be working along and in streets, alleyways and boulevards in Shakopee to perform general work on its natural gas utilities. Work will be intermittent from June through October. After work is completed, a different crew will return to replace sod, pavement and rock in alleyways. Please stay back from the work area. Call 952-233-9368 if the area is not restored within 10 days.
Canterbury Road/Fourth Avenue intersection closed
The intersection of County Highway 83 (Canterbury Road) and Fourth Avenue will remain closed through mid-September due to the ongoing County Highway 83 Intersection Improvements at 4th Avenue project. There is no access between County Highway 101 and Valley Industrial Boulevard South.
Vierling Drive closed west of Taylor Street
Vierling Drive is closed between the mall entrance and Taylor Street through the winter. This section of Vierling Drive will be constructed and completed in summer 2018.
Pedestrian bridge at Memorial Park removed
The Minnesota Valley State Trail's Mill Pond channel pedestrian crossing is closed. The bridge, located on the northern edge of Memorial Park, has been removed. The city is working with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other partners to explore options for repairing, replacing or completely removing the bridge.
Extended Work Hours
The City Council suspended the noise ordinance for the following projects:
County Highway 83/Fourth Avenue Intersection Reconstruction project: Contractor can begin work at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday through Oct. 5, 2018. The extension will help minimize the length of the upcoming County Highway 83 closure.
Vierling Drive Extension project: Contractor can start work at 8 a.m. Saturdays through the end of September.
