Highway 41 closed Nov. 2-4
Union Pacific Railroad and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close Highway 41 in both directions between First Street in Chaska and Highway 169 starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. The road is anticipated to reopen by 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4. Please use Highway 169, County Highway 69, County Highway 101, Flying Cloud Drive/Chaska Boulevard and Chestnut Street to get around the closure.
Fuller Street closed Nov. 1-5
Fuller Street is closed to traffic between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue Nov. 1-5 for the installation of utilities related to the Scott County Government Center expansion project. The closure is expected to last until Tuesday, Nov. 5 with some minor disruption when the pavement is patched at a later date.
Second Avenue East closed
To facilitate redevelopment of the former city hall site, the westbound lane of Second Avenue East is closed between Lewis Street and Holmes Street. The public parking lot will be permanently removed as part of the redevelopment project. Intermittent alley closures are also likely. The closure is expected to last through December 2020.
Schenian Street now open
Schenian Street opened Tuesday, Oct. 1 and serves as the new access route to Canterbury Park. The bypass road off Vierling Drive and onto the Canterbury access road is closed.
Shenandoah Drive closed south of Eastway Avenue
Shenandoah Drive is closed to traffic south of Eastway Avenue. The closure is to facilitate the installation of landscaping improvements along the roadway.
12th Avenue closed from Vierling Drive to Disc Drive
12th Avenue is closed from Vierling Drive to Disc Drive as part of the 12th Avenue Reconstruction Project. The closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of a roundabout at Vierling Drive and 12th Avenue. A portion of 12th Avenue will remain open to traffic from Disc Drive to County Highway 83 (Canterbury Road).
Watch for signed detour routes. Day-to-day traffic can access Canterbury Road from Vierling Drive via a temporary bypass road. Canterbury event traffic will be detoured north on County Highway 83 to Barenscheer Boulevard where a temporary traffic signal has been installed. The road will be closed until November.
Fourth Avenue closed through 2020
Fourth Avenue closed in June 2019 between Fuller Street and Atwood Street for approximately 18 months. The closure is necessary for the Scott County Government Center Campus Improvement project.
Extended construction hours for 12th Avenue project
The City Council approved a suspension of the city’s noise ordinance to allow construction on the 12th Avenue Reconstruction project to begin at 7 a.m. Saturdays through November. The extended construction hours will help the contractor meet project deadlines while minimizing the length of the traffic impact.
Pedestrian bridge at Memorial Park removed
The Minnesota Valley State Trail's Mill Pond channel pedestrian crossing is closed. The bridge, located on the northern edge of Memorial Park, has been removed. The city is working with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other partners to explore options for repairing, replacing or completely removing the bridge.
