Memorial Park

Memorial Park Trail

This 137-acre park is Shakopee's largest. Located off County Road 101, it features natural trails, a small pedestrian bridge crossing the Mill Pond channel, several picnic shelters, and more. View the ducks in the old mill pond, pay tribute to Shakopee’s soldiers at the Veterans Memorial, or view the Native American burial mounds.

The park has an open-air shelter with electric outlets on a pole at the north end of the shelter. You will need to furnish your extension cords. The shelter has 10 to 12 picnic tables, a capacity of approximately 150-200.

This park is undergoing some renovations. The playground was removed in 2023 and will eventually be replaced with a nature-focused play area in a different location in the park so as not to disturb Native burial grounds. The park is also being seeded with a native pollinator mix to restore the native environment to this portion of the riverside.
