CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATES: City facilities are closed until further notice. Shakopee City Hall will reopen to the public beginning Monday, June 1. The Shakopee Police Department, Shakopee Public Works and Shakopee Ice Arena will also reopen for public business.

The Shakopee Community Center remains closed in accordance with state orders.

Rental Registration

The city requires all rental properties (including single-family homes) to be registered with the Shakopee Police Department. More information at Rental Registration.

Business Licenses

The city also requires licenses for certain businesses, including massage therapy, tattoo parlors and pet stores.

Block Party Registration

If you are interested in hosting a block party, please contact the police department’s Crime Prevention Unit. A letter will be sent giving permission to block off the area of the street your party is located at, as long as no private driveways are blocked without all residents’ permission. If interested, the department will have officers stop by time permitting.
