Happy Birthday America Parade returns with new route

Annual Shakopee celebration will be held July 3

Post Date:06/23/2020

Shakopee Parks and Recreation will celebrate Independence Day with the annual Happy Birthday America Parade on July 3.

This year the parade will circle the Shakopee Community Center Parking lot. The new route was designed to increase social distancing between those participating in the parade. Residents are encouraged to bring their decorated wagons, bikes and trikes. Parks and Recreation staff will also provide some candy and glow sticks to keep things festive.

Parade staging begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Center Parking lot, and the parade begins at 11 a.m. After the parade, residents can stick around for a free Popsicle to cool off.

This is a free event, and no registration is required. Check our website for information about cancellations due to weather.
