Shakopee Police Department invites residents to attend these upcoming public outreach events:

Personal document shredding event Sept. 21

Join Shred Right and the Shakopee Police Department for a document shredding event Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Police Department, 475 Gorman St.

Residents are invited to discard personal files from 10 a.m. to noon in the Police Department parking lot. Bring up five grocery bags or banker file boxes.

Free car seat safety check is Sept. 27

The Police Department is hosting a free car seat safety clinic Friday, Sept. 27 at Shakopee Fire Station 1, 2700 Vierling Drive E. Certified technicians will teach you how to install child restraints properly, as well as answer questions. This is an appointment-only event.

Schedule an appointment between noon and 2 p.m. by contacting Officer Schmidt at mschmidt@ShakopeeMN.gov or 952-233-9464.

Coffee with a Cop is Oct. 4

Come meet your favorite Shakopee police officers and Scott County Sheriff's Office deputies during the next Coffee with a Cop Friday, Oct. 4. Community members are invited to share a cup of java with a police officer and ask questions in an informal setting from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Caribou Coffee, 1361 Heather St.
