Two public hearings scheduled for Sept. 5

Post Date:09/02/2019 12:00 pm

Two public hearings have been scheduled for the Sept. 5 Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals meeting. Hearings will be held to discuss:

  • Rezoning 117.43 acres north of County Highway 78 to single-family residential (R-1B) and approving the preliminary plat for LaTour Terrace. Shakopee Public Utilities Commission is requesting the rezoning to construct an elevated water tank, multiple wells, pumphouse and treatment plant facility to serve the Windermere development. The property is currently guided single-family residential. The plat would create three lots: a 7.019-acre lot for SPU, 1-acre parcel for an existing home and 3.2-acre site for existing farmstead. The remaining property would require additional approvals.
  • Conditional use permit to allow an overheight utility service structure at 2080 Zumbro Avenue. Shakopee Public Utilities Commission is requesting the permit for construction of an elevated water tank to stand approximately 135 feet in height with a diameter of 66 feet. The proposed tank would hold 750,000 gallons and serve the Windermere development.

The Planning Commission/BOAA meets at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. The full agenda is available at
