Get on board to the Minnesota State Fair
MVTA offers trips from Shakopee on weekends and Labor Day
The Minnesota State Fair is set for Aug. 22 through Sept. 2, and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will be offering service from Shakopee on weekends and Labor Day. Weekday service is available from Burnsville and Eagan.
Payment for those who choose to pay cash while boarding is $6 for a round-trip ticket. (Exact change is required. Drivers don’t make change.)
Weekends and Labor Day service
MVTA will provide service from Shakopee to the State Fair on weekends and Labor Day only. The weekend service from Marschall Road Transit Station, 1615 Weston Court, will be hourly from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Return service from the fair is from noon to midnight.
Express sites to the fair
You can get to the State Fair any day of the fair from Burnsville Transit Station and Eagan Transit Station. This year, MVTA will have several more buses dedicated to fair service during peak travel times.
- Burnsville Transit Station, Highway 13 & Nicollet Avenue. Hourly service weekdays 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; 30-minute service on weekends and Labor Day begins at 7 a.m. Return service from the fair is from noon to midnight for all sites. State Fair buses will board at Bay A at Burnsville Transit Station.
- Eagan Transit Station, Yankee Doodle Road & Pilot Knob Road at I-35E. Hourly service on weekdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; 30-minute service from 8 a.m. on weekends and Labor Day. Return service from the fair is from noon to midnight for all sites.

Please Note: Go-To Cards, SuperSaver Cards, College Passes and MetroPasses are not accepted for the State Fair Express service. Bikes are permitted to be transported on the front of the bus. Only collapsible wagons are allowed on buses for transport.
