Lion statue with water coming from mouthThe Lions Park Splash Pad will open on Thursday, Aug. 15. The city will celebrate with the Shakopee Lions Club, who paid for the installation of the pad, at a grand opening celebration at 5:30 p.m. at Lions Park, 1103 Adams St. S.

The splash pad features and water pump were donated by Aquatix, a local water park equipment manufacturer. This state-of-the-art equipment includes several water features, including a lion statue in honor of the Lions Club. All water features will operate on a timer, which is triggered by a button at the center of the pad. This will ensure that the pad will conserve water and energy when not in use. The splash pad will be open daily though Labor Day, Sept. 2.

Shakopee Public Works crews are also making repairs to the restrooms at Lions Park to improve the experience for visitors. During the completion of the splash pad and restrooms, we ask that you stay out of the fenced area.
