The Shakopee City Council met on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Among the meeting highlights:
Council reviews sanitary sewer, surface water master plans
The City Council reviewed and authorized the release of the Sanitary Sewer Master Plan and the Surface Water Management Plan for a 60-day review by adjacent jurisdictions, as part of the City of Shakopee's 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. The Metropolitan Council requires the plans be updated and included as part of the overall plan update. Following the review period, the council will be asked to formally approve the plans. Council reviews 2018 goals, workplan
City Administrator Bill Reynolds presented the council with a review of progress on the 2018 City Council goals and priorities. The list is available on the city website under www.ShakopeeMN.gov/mayorandcouncil. The council will meet in workshop Feb. 12 to discuss 2019 goals and priorities.
Council recognizes retiring Public Works maintenance operator
The City Council approved a resolution recognizing Maintenance Operator Todd Brinkhaus, who is retiring Feb. 28 after 47 years with the city. Brinkhaus has worked in the city’s fleet, parks and street divisions. He was the primary gravel road grader operator for many years with other notable duties, such as sweeping streets and driving the snowplow. We wish him the best in retirement!
