Proposed ordinance amending mobile food truck code

Post Date:12/31/2018 12:02 pm

The City Council will be asked at its Jan. 8, 2019, meeting to consider adopting an ordinance [PDF], modifying City Code 110.187 regarding mobile food units, to:

  • Eliminate the temporary permit and allow for an $50 annual license
  • Allow a food truck operator to use a permit from a jurisdiction that allows year-round food trucks to obtain a license that is good Jan. 1 through Dec. 31. Any operator that gets inspected by Scott County or a jurisdiction that does not allow year-round food trucks can still only operate from April 1 through Nov. 15.
  • Allow operation of a mobile food unit for up to 21 days in a 60-day period
  • Require refuse containers be provided
