Flooding Update for Highway 41 in Chaska

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Highway 41 will close between Highway 169 and Chaska Boulevard at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, due to the rising water levels of the Minnesota River. Highway 41 will remain closed until the water recedes and any damage to the road can be repaired. Motorists can expect additional traffic on the Highway 101 river crossing in Shakopee.

Over the weekend, MnDOT restriped northbound Highway 169 over the Bloomington Ferry Bridge to add a temporary third lane to ease congestion.

Open-air picnic shelter

Home to SandVenture Aquatic Park and the city’s 18-hole Disc Golf Course, this park is a favorite for company picnics, family reunions and community events. The 50-acre park has a basketball court, playground, tennis and pickleball courts, hockey rink and pleasure skating area. The park is also home to the Youth Building, an insulated log cabin that is available for rent.

In 2016, the city installed a new playground as part of a community build. Shakopee Fun For All Playground is an inclusive playground with sensory activities for all ages.

The park has two open-air shelters with electricity. Shelters have 10 to 12 picnic tables, capacity of approximately 150-200. If your event or picnic is in excess of 200, you may be asked to rent both shelters.
