We want to hear from you!

Updated: 12/26/2018

Your opinion counts and we are committed to acting on it. That is why it is so important that you participate in the 2019 Shakopee Community Survey!

In January, 1,600 households will receive a survey packet and postcards in the mail from National Citizen Survey asking you to share your opinion with us. If you don’t receive the survey information in the mail, don’t worry. You will still be able to participate online in early February at We will post additional reminders in the weeks to come. To make sure that you don’t miss out on the reminders, sign up for the city's eNotifications

It is exceptionally important that we hear from you because we do follow the guidance we receive from the survey. For example, you told us in the last survey that 87 percent of you supported a more active approach to code enforcement. Because of that, the city prioritized code enforcement and hired a code enforcement specialist. Sixty-six percent of you told us that redeveloping downtown was essential or very important, and during the last two years, we have taken major steps toward making downtown a more vibrant and attractive public space with infrastructure improvements, the addition of public art and facilitation of new businesses to serve you in our downtown.

The community survey serves as a foundation for the city’s work plan for the next two years. And we want to hear from you. Make your voice heard and participate in the community survey the next two months.
