Update March 30: City Hall Construction

Updated: 05/05/2017

The new city hall is really beginning to take shape with almost all of the exterior finishes, such as brick and metal paneling, installed.  Windows are being installed slowly due to the potential for them to be broken during construction.

It seems especially impressive to note how nicely the new structure flows in connection to the existing police department building. The brick coloring and window wells appear fairly seamless.

Inside, nearly all of the heating and cooling system, electrical cabling, communications cabling and fire suppression is complete.  Drywall was installed on almost all walls and some ceilings are now being installed.  Progress in the next few weeks should continue with drywall mudding, tiling and other finishes.

At this point we are on track for an official opening around July 10.  City staff are likely going to be transitioning between the existing city hall and the new building between July 5 and through the weekend of July 8-9. Stay tuned for details on a grand opening celebration!
