Republic Services provides residential garbage, recycling, bulk-item pickup and yard waste services for the City of Shakopee.
City Code 51.03 requires all single family dwellings, duplexes, triplexes and all other residential units that receive individual curbside pickup of refuse and have municipal water and sewer service to have refuse service from Republic Services. Residents are billed quarterly for these services.

Each household receives a city-owned garbage cart and a recycling cart. Both carts have lids and wheels. Residents may choose (with rates charged accordingly):
- 65-gallon (standard recycling cart for townhomes)
- 95-gallon (standard recycling cart for single-family homes)
Refuse is collected once a week; recycling is collected every-other week. It is always on the same day of the week. Residents must have their refuse and recycling at the curb by 7 a.m. on their collection day.
Shakopee uses single-sort recycling. Recycling is collected every-other week. Republic Services uses a Blue Week/Grey Week calendar for collection:
Don't know whether your property is a Blue/Gray week? See the Recycling Collection Route Map [PDF].
Republic Services offers yard waste hauling services on an annual subscription service and one-time pickup collection. The yard waste season runs through the end of November, weather permitting.
Appliances and/or other bulk items [PDF] can be picked up for an additional charge. Contact Republic Services at (952) 941-5174 to schedule a stop at your home.
