Newly constructed in 2016, the Shakopee Ice Arena is open 12 months of the year for practices, games, recreational skating, lessons, camps and tournaments by local and surrounding community organizations. It includes two sheets of ice, locker rooms, pro shop and bleacher seating for 900 (Rink 1) and 335 (Rink 2). The arena is next door to the Shakopee Community Center.

The city-operated arena is home to the Shakopee High School boys and girls hockey teams and the Shakopee Youth Hockey Association. It also offers skating lessons for all ages, in addition to open skating and other skate programs.              

Pro Shop

The Ice Arena Pro Shop offers skate sharpening and variety of skating supplies. Rental skates are also available for ice arena functions at a cost of $3 per pair and are available in all sizes.

Advertising

The Shakopee Youth Hockey Association, in partnership with the Parks & Recreation Department, provides advertising opportunities throughout the Shakopee Ice Arena.

The arena is rented nearly 2,000 hours each year for practices, games and tournaments by local and surrounding community organizations. Arena advertisements have an exposure of up to 1,000 spectators during major events and 125,000 participants and spectators throughout the year, many from out of town.
