Dozens, if not hundreds, of Shakopee dog walkers spend hours every day walking through our neighborhoods, often preoccupied by chatting, phone calls or texts.

Dog Walker Watch encourages dog walkers nationwide to serve as extra eyes and ears for local law enforcement agencies. Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, the program trains walkers on how to effectively observe and report criminal activity.

Graduates of the Dog Walker Watch program will receive a certificate of completion and a dog bandanna. Dog-less walkers are also welcome to attend.

Well-behaved dogs that are current on vaccinations are encouraged to attend classes as well.
