A large part of the Shakopee Fire Department’s mission is to serve the community through outreach and education programs. From the annual water fights to Fire Prevention Week, the Fire Department participates in events year-round to educate residents on fire safety and create ties with the community. The department hosts its annual open house in October.

Schedule a Visit or Tour

Fire Station Tours

Fire station tours are available for groups ages 3 and older and are typically one hour in length. Tours must be scheduled a minimum of one month in advance: Schedule a tour.

Firefighter and Fire Truck Visits

Want to have a firefighter come speak or see a fire truck on display at your local school or event? Requests must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of the visit date. Because the majority of the Shakopee Fire Department’s staff is part-time, staff and equipment may not always be available: Request a visit.

Schedule a Child Safety Seat Check

Our full-time firefighters are certified child passenger safety technicians and can assist you with the installation of your car seat. They are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Request an appointment

Home Fire Safety Program

Fire prevention is one of the most important duties of a firefighter. The Fire Department has a home fire safety prevention program, which includes visits to Shakopee residences.
