NOTE: Shakopee Government TV will be off the air June 12 through July 10. Comcast Channel 16 and its live stream is unavailable as the city moves its television broadcast equipment to the new City Hall building.

The public will still have access to archived meeting video at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/livestream. City Council meetings are also posted on the city's YouTube channel.

The June 20 and July 5 City Council meetings will not be broadcast live. They will be recorded and available for playback online. No city meetings will be live-streamed until the new Council Chambers are fully operational.

Shakopee Government TV broadcasts regular meetings of the Shakopee City Council, Scott County Board, Shakopee School Board and Shakopee Public Utilities Commission, as well as numerous city and county advisory boards and commissions. City meetings are live and recorded for playback on Comcast cable channel 16 and may be viewed on demand on the city's website.

In between programs, Shakopee Government TV runs bulletins regarding government programs, services and events, as well as occasional public service announcements and programs highlighting city news.

Funding and franchise agreements

Funding for government access television is appropriated by the City Council from the annual franchise fees received as a result of the operation of the cable television system in the City of Shakopee.

Shakopee Education TV

The Shakopee School District operates its own channel on Comcast cable channel 14. For more information, contact the school district at (952) 496-5000.

About government access television 

Government access cable television provides information about government and community programs, services, events and issues with the goal of increasing residents' access to local government meetings and information. Shakopee Government TV and Shakopee Education TV are available to Comcast cable subscribers in the city as part of the “basic” cable package.
