The City Clerk’s Office administers city, county, state and federal elections.
City, county, school board, state and federal elections are held in even-numbered years. Primary elections are held on the second Tuesday in August. General elections are held on the first Tuesday in November.

Changes to mayoral terms, election calendar
In August 2015, the Council approved moving the City’s current odd-year elections to even years beginning in 2018. The Council canceled the November 2017 election, extending all elected officials’ terms by one year, upon the ordinance effective date.
The City Council also changed the office of Mayor from a two-year to four-year term beginning with the next election cycle (2018). Read more...
