The Fleet Maintenance Division is an operating unit of the Public Works Department. Customers of the division are the vehicle and equipment users employed by all city departments.

The division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of city vehicles and equipment, including sedans, light and heavy duty trucks, snow plows, police and fire vehicles, trailers, tractors, mowers, street sweepers and miscellaneous equipment.

Services also include the management and maintenance of on-site fuel and wash systems, which are used by city, Shakopee School District, Scott County and Shakopee Public Utilities vehicles.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the operating safety and regulatory compliance of the city’s fleet and fleet infrastructure
  • Procuring necessary vehicles and equipment through the fleet maintenance division
  • Asset management, budgeting and reporting, including vehicle and equipment replacement, scheduling and forecasting
