Maintenance work on Highway 101 bridge to start Oct. 2

Post Date:09/26/2017 1:47 p.m.

Planned preventative maintenance work is scheduled to start on the Highway 101 causeway bridge Monday, Oct. 2.

The contractor for the Southwest Reconnection Project plans to install a deck sealer beginning at 7 a.m. Oct. 2. Work is anticipated to continue through Oct. 27.

Although no full closures of Highway 101 are planned, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction while work is occurring. Motorists should expect traffic disruptions and delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible.

This work is weather dependent and any significant changes to the schedule will be communicated when they are known. This deck sealing work is being done to preserve and extend the life of the Highway 101 causeway bridge, as a significant investment was made with the Southwest Reconnection Project.
