City treating public ash trees for emerald ash borer prevention
Rainbow Treecare crews are active this week treating 185 city-owned trees against the emerald ash borer.
Crews are using a chemical injection treatment shown to protect ash trees from the devastating emerald ash borer.
This is year two of a three-year treatment rotation. Last year, the city contracted with Rainbow Treecare to treat approximately 560 public ash trees over three years. All public ash trees not being treated will be removed and replaced.
