Crack sealing to start week of April 24
Weather permitting, Astech Co. will begin crack sealing operations in the city the week of April 24.
This annual project preserves the life of a street by blowing out cracks and filling with rubber. The material is then covered by toilet paper. It is OK to drive over the paper. However, residents are advised to avoid the cracks until the rubber filler cools.
Crack sealing is estimated to take up to five days. Please note: All work is weather dependent and based on availability of crews. The alternative work week is May 1.
UPDATE 4/27: Due to weather conditions, crack-sealing crews are halting operations. They hope to return mid-morning tomorrow. Otherwise, they will be back Monday. The "No Parking" signs will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, since crews still have most of the project to complete.
