Shakopee Fire responds to Columbine Lane fire
Shakopee, MN – Shakopee firefighters responded to a fire in the attached garage of a residence at 185 Columbine Lane at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.
The first fire engine, which arrived on scene less than 4 minutes from the initial call, contained most of the fire in the garage. The living area did have significant smoke damage, and there was minor fire damage to the entry area of the home.
“Having a full-time duty crew model made a difference in saving this home,” said Shakopee Fire Chief Rick Coleman. “Being able to put firefighters on scene quickly is critical to fire suppression and property preservation.”
A vehicle and numerous tools were destroyed by the fire and one firefighter was treated for a cut. No other injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
